Hey everyone!! My name is Soumya Kamada and I am 16 years old. I’m a proud New Yorker (which means I am obsessed with bagels) and I love reading. Seriously, I learned to read from Reader’s Digest. That sparked an interest in current events and pretty soon, I was reading the Wall Street Journal every morning before school. I think we, as a community, need to put more emphasis on general awareness. It’s so easy, as a student, to live inside this bubble of schoolwork but we need to know what is going on in the real world. And because I wasn’t finding the information I wanted anywhere in school, I turned to the outside world and was slapped in the face by polarized America. The news is overwhelming all the time and I needed an outlet where I could learn, process and educate other young people. So, I got the idea for a podcast. And there is no one better to do it with than my “let’s discuss every single presidential debate” buddy!
